Have you guys seen that commercial where the woman talks about biking up a HUGE hill, just to have breakfast at mcdonalds? I always thought it was so stupid. Like really, who wants to do all that work, burn those calories, exert that energy, just to pack on 500 calories worth of bread, grease, and “meat” at a fast food place. I thought it was so ridiculous.
I went to the indoor track that’s pretty close to our apartment to do a few miles. They were closed. So I drove ALL the way across town to the other one. And I worked out, and I worked out HARD. Im talking 469 calories worked out. When I left, everything just felt heavy. I was tired, and I was STARVING. The first mile or so to get back home, I had my windows down, to let the warm air out of the car before I turned the AC on.
That’s when it happened.
Stopped at a red light, right beside a McDonalds. Guys? That greasy, unhealthy goodness was calling my name! “Christina, come get some fries. It wont be that bad. Just get a small order. We’re only 230 calories, and 11 grams of fat. You could burn us back off in no time.”
I resisted the urge, but now I understand. I really, really understand. I just worked my butt off. Literally. The last thing I want is fruits and veggies. I want BREAD. Preferably with butter, sugar, cinnamon, and cream cheese icing. But that’s not what I need, I know, I know, but man….I get it now!
(BTW, do you know Mcdonalds has the nerve to have a “free downloads center” on their website where you can get screensavers, desktop backgrounds, twitter backgrounds, etc, of hamburgers? WHO DOES THAT?)
