Izzy is growing up at what seems to be the speed of light. 8 months old, already! In just 4 short months, she’ll be a year old. A year! This time last year, I was a little over halfway through my pregnancy with her, at 22 weeks. It still amazes me that my bubbly, energetic, little lady used to be just a bundle of tiny, microscopic cells.
Things that made me misty this week:
Her car seat straps being moved up a level. Even though I did it a week or so ago, it just hit that man, she’s gotten so big! The straps are supposed to be at or below the shoulders, and on the first level, they were almost at the bottom of her shoulder blades, which was making her uncomfortable. Now they’re just below the tops of her shoulders. She still fights against being put in it though, lol.
She clapped for the first time last night! The circumstances were less than ideal, but I’ll take it! I was in the bathroom, with the door not closed all the way, apparently, because Izzy smacked it open, and then sat at the doorway, grinning at me. I asked her if I could have some “privacy, please”, and guess she liked what I said, because her face broke into the biggest smile, and she started clapping! I was so shocked, because I clap for her all the time, when she stands on her own, or gets a ring on the peg, but she had never clapped back. I was so happy!
And now, I leave you with a short video, of Izzy explaining the meaning of it all 🙂
