So, last week wasn’t what I would consider “great” in terms of loosing any extra fluff, but I wouldn’t consider it a fail either. I worked out 3 times, burning a total of 1425 calories. Which is good. But when I think about the additional 1000 calories that I could have burned had I just had the “get up and go” to make it happen, I feel a little disappointed in myself that I allowed the rainy weather of the past week hold me back.
This week, I will be striving for a calorie burn goal of 2500 calories. It sounds like such a big number, but it’s actually not that hard of an achievement to reach. For me, a normal workout burns anywhere from 350-500 calories, depending on what I do. I use a heart rate monitor to determine my calorie burn. If I keep my workouts toward the high end of that spectrum, I can easily achieve my goal by simply working out 5 days a week, which isn’t unreasonable.
Calorie count? Forget about it. My eating has been honestly awful this week. No excuses. That has to change. I have a terrible, terrible weakness for sugar, that im going to have to do something about it. I really need to make an effort to keep healthy, low calorie/low fat/low sugar snacks available. And im not talking about sugar subsitute snacks. I mean things that are actually good for me, not like….sugar free oreos or something similarly ridiculous.
I’ll make it happen. I know I will. The hardest part is just getting past the procrastination, and changing the bad habits.
