So, on Sunday, I began looking for a new phone, since it was time for an upgrade. I found what I wanted (FOR FREE!!!), and then I logged into my account, so that I could order the phone. Only…..once I logged in, it was no longer free. It was $500. And I was pissed. Yes, I said pissed. So I decided to see what ATT had to say about it. This is the conversation.
So, yeah……I left that conversation EVEN MORE PISSED. And then I realized something. We have 3 lines on our account. I wasn’t browsing using a line that was eligible for discounts. When I switched to the correct line…..yeah….the phone was free. So I felt a little bad for being so snotty with the service rep. Until I realized that the last thing she said to me, about not offering refurbs on upgrades was totally not true. Because the phone that I ordered IS a refurb. Even with the upgrade, a new one was $200. The Iphone 4 was $200. I wasn’t paying $200 for a phone.
So I ended up with the phone I wanted, for the price I wanted. (It should be here tomorrow or wednesday, and im ridiculously excited about it, so of course i’ll post!) But the moral of the story is, make sure you have all of YOUR ducks in a row before you start acting snotty with customer service, lmbo.
