So, Izzy went in for her 12 month check up (even though she’ll be 13 months in a few days) today. We found out that she weighs 22lbs, 12oz, and is 29.5in long. I was expecting her to weigh more, because she feels so heavy, but guess not! We were given official approval for whole milk, and for a daily multivitamin if we chose to do so, which we will be doing. THEN, I found out that Izzy would be getting 4 shots. Yeah…4. And she would be getting her finger pricked, to check her hemoglobin levels. *sigh* (And I’m I the only person on earth that didnt know that they vaccinated against chicken pox now?)
Izzy was pretty cool about the finger pricking. She actually caused more fuss about the band-aid being on her finger than the actual pricking. The shots were a different story. She melted about the first two, and then flew into a rage about the second two, especially the MMR, which the nurse kept for last because she said that it was normally the most uncomfortable one. Izzy was not a happy camper. Still not a happy camper, and I feel so bad for her. I know her little thighs are sore. She gets extra snuggles today to make up for it. She DID leave with a nice new strawberry flavored tongue depressor though, lol. She loves those things!
I really, really hate these visits. Well…the ones that end with shots at least.
