Have you ever heard that ” You can’t out-train bad eating habits”? I’m no diet or nutrition expert by ANYBODY’s measure, but it makes perfect sense to me. Erika over at BGG2WL says it all the time. I understand the logic. I believe the science. So why is it that the part of my brain that understands “Christina, you really, really shouldn’t eat that. You’re not even hungry.” seems to constantly be at odds with the part of my brain that says “Hmm. I should eat something. I’m not hungry, but it’s available, so I may as well!”?
I’ve been busting my butt for about 2 weeks, with no result. That 3lb loss that I had, back at the beginning of February? Well, I’ve gained that back. Plus some. Even though I was working out. Go figure.
I buy the fruit and veggies, so that they’re available. And I LOVE fruits and veggies, so that’s not the issue. The issue is, once I eat that mango, or eat those tomato slices, I’m still craving carbs and sugar. I don’t know what it is about BREAD, but I just can’t enough of it. I could live the rest of my life on cream cheese danishes and peanut butter sandwiches, and die a happy woman. Seriously. But I would be pretty fat. *sigh*
I don’t want to continue putting so much effort into working out, and being sore, just to have my hard work canceled out because I can’t stop shoveling cupcakes down my throat. Do any of you have this issue? How did you overcome it? What types of snacks do you eat to overcome cravings without jeopardizing your weight? Please, please help a sister out!
