We bought Izzy a book of Hello Kitty stickers this weekend. She loves stickers, so we figured we would use them to help with positive reinforcement. Well, Izzy earned her first sticker today! She asked me to “taste” my water, and when she put the cup to her mouth, she tipped it back a little too far. The shock made her drop the whole cup. She said “uh oh!” and without me getting up, or saying a word, she ran into the laundry room to get a towel to clean up the water! She can be sweet when she wants to be.
But when she doesn’t want to be… Izzy is something else. She had to get “snatched” this morning. (“Snatching”, as I understand it, is when you get grabbed up by the front of your shirt and given a very stern talking to. This is the last step before a spanking.) The snatching worked very well. Izzy is starting to get a little out of hand with the attitude, and I’m a little concerned about spanking, because I don’t want to send the message that hitting is ok, but…I don’t know. There may be some butt whoopings on the horizon.
I am sooo drowsy right now! I actually just woke up from a 15 minute black out while typing this post. For some reason, “non-drowsy” meds send me straight to sleep. You know how painkillers make you sleepy? For me, it’s nothing compared to what this (allegedly non-drowsy) claritin-d does to me. Thank God that it takes a few hours to kick in, because the first time I took one, I did some driving afterward. Could have been bad. But, even with the whole drowsiness issue, the stuff works amazingly well!
I hate that even though it works so well, I have to be pretty stingy with it. Aside from the fact that more than $1 per pill, it is HARD to get. I had to damn near get a background check! We first tried in Target, since we had just had lunch nearby. Target wont sell it to you unless you get your prescriptions filled there. O_O. Ok, so, we’ll get it at walmart, I get my birth control filled there. Only…they wont sell it to you unless your dr. prescribes it. Even though it’s not a prescription drug. O_O. Soooo, I call my dr, and have to leave a message, and wait on them to call me back, to see if they will do it without me coming in for a visit (It was about 3pm on a Friday). While waiting on them to call me, Byron remembers that I’ve filled a prescription at Walgreens a while ago. So, we call and ask them if they’ll do it. Thank you, Jesus, they will! The pharmacist made a bit of an exception for me, because their rule is that you need a recent (within 3 months) prescription. I think mine was 5, but she could see how miserable I was, so she let it slide. I will be switching my bc prescription to them so that I dont have any trouble when I reach the end of this box.
Izzy’s little wardrobe has gotten a major upgrade over the last few weeks. I’ve gotten her several things here and there, including a pair of ADORABLE little black boots at Target. I also found her a really cute Gymboree dress at Goodwill for $2! My MIL bought her some pretty dresses from a garage sale one of our neighbors was having, and I picked up a sweater for her at Old Navy. A few long sleeved shirts, and a winter coat, and Izzy will be set! I’ll be sure to get some pictures of everything to post.
While at Goodwill, I found a few cute things for myself too! 2 dresses, a skirt, and a shirt! I may start going thrifting more often, since I always find great things!
I have new jewelry and new bows over at the Chic Chanta shop, and don’t forget, the coupon code BEINGMRSJONES gets you 15% off of your purchase! Here are a few pictures:
