With Zoe’s (projected) arrival date getting closer and closer, just 47 days away, I’ve found myself getting a bit anxious. Not necessarily for her to get here, because I want her to have all of the time she needs to cook (Even though I’ve had just….a “feeling” that she won’t stay put the full 40 weeks. I hope I’m wrong). I’m getting more and more excited for things I’ll be able to do after she arrives. Things that aren’t baby related at.all. Here’s my list:
- Have a BIG, preferably frozen, alcoholic drink. This will probably have to wait a bit after arrival, since I’ll need to establish milk supply, and then pump for her, but once that happens? Oh, it’s going down.
- Drink milk without feeling nauseous.
- Sleep on my stomach
- Not um….leaking…when I sneeze.
- Have non-pregnant sex. Seriously, at this point, it’s not nearly as fun as it should be.
- Go more than 30 minutes without needing to pee.
- Not feeling light-headed if I don’t eat every 2 hours.
- Being able to focus on tasks.
- Non-swollen feet
- Walk from one end of my house to the other without being out of breath.
Of course, there are a ton of Zoe-related things to look forward to as well, but ↑these things? These are my own, private, simple little pleasures that I am sooo ready for!
What did you look forward to most post-pregnancy? (That had nothing to do with the new baby!)

I looked forward to being able to breathe like a normal person. Not constantly heaving for breath all the time! Good luck mama! Newborns are so fun!
I was happy to be rid of the morning sickness, heartburn and uncomfortable sleep.
I have 4 wks left and I can’t wait to go back to work. I have been home since May and I miss having daily adult interaction. Also, I am so tired of sleeping all the time. Good Luck to you and I agree a nice frozen drink sounds great
I wanted to sleep on my stomach soooo bad.
And forgive me,but I really wanted to be able to see my lady parts again! LOL
What didn’t I miss being pregnant back to back. Like you I wanted a drink but most of all I missed my sushi. I love salmon so much and wanted to be able to eat it every friday like I did before being pregnant. lol

Wow! The only thing on your list that I’m not experiencing are the light headedness! I feel guilty for desiring a nice cool margarita! I don’t guess I’ll be having one anytime soon either. Congrats again on the pregnancy and good luck to making it to 40! My countdown is (supposedly) 23 days.
Sleeping on my stomach was at the top of my list and sex without having to hold my belly!

Time is winding down. I missed sleeping on my tummy the most the side was getting repetitive and oh that heartburn good gawd
The long stretch at the end is just awful. All I wanted at that stage was to sleep on my stomach and not be pregnant anymore.
