Izzy is turning 3 this Sunday. Unbelievable. I’m a little bit sad about not doing a lot of decorations, treats, etc like I did last year for her party, but to be quite frank, nobody aside from Izzy and Byron seemed to really appreciate the effort (family party, Izzy was the only small child), so it was kinda pointless to do it on that scale. I’ll probably do a party for her 4th birthday, since she’s making new friends (and so am I, friends with kids in our area) and do custom treats and all of that again. This year, I just had a baby, so I’m keeping it simple. Or, as simple I can bear to. I mean, Izzy is my first born, my sweetheart, and she LOVES birthdays, so hers has to be special!
So, the morning of her birthday, she will wake up to her bedroom filled with balloons. If she doesn’t die of pure, unadulterated joy (seriously, she LOVES balloons), she’ll come out of her room to see her brand new trike assembled and ready for her to hop on. If she doesn’t die of sheer excitement (seriously, she LIVES for being outside on a bike) , she’ll go into the kitchen where she’ll find a plate of pancakes and bacon. If she doesn’t explode with happiness (seriously, she is obsessed with bacon. Would eat a whole package if I let her), after breakfast, she’ll get in some trike riding time around the neighborhood, or go to the park, her choice. If she doesn’t keel over from all the serious FUN, (Seriously, I’m hoping this happens, she gets ca-ra-zy when she doesn’t get a nap) we’ll have a simple lunch, and then she’ll HAVE to take a nap, on her birthday. Bummer, I know, but that’s life. When she wakes up, we’ll do something fun with the balloons, then get cleaned up to have an early dinner. After dinner, we’ll do candles, and cake, and birthday singing. And then my newly crowned 3 year will go to sleep. Sounds like a pretty awesome birthday, right?
I never should have relaxed my hair. Why didn’t y’all tell me? Now I’m transitioning back, and my hair had been looking a mess since BEFORE I had Zoe. So I got a sew-in weave. Or I did a sew-in weave. However you say it. I did my own sew-in weave, so I wouldn’t have to deal with a big hassle to get my hair in order every morning. And it’s nicely protecting my hair, which I hope I won’t have to cut all the way off. I have a sore, itchy spot in my crown, where the hair keeps breaking off. I need to get it looked at by a dermatologist. I think it’s spreading, but I may be paranoid.
Being a mom of two is….interesting. More on that in it’s own post.
Being the wife of a man you’ve given birth to two kids for is….interesting. More on that in it’s own post too.
We’ve finally started purchasing Christmas gifts. The only people we haven’t taken care of are my brother and all of the nephews/nieces. I don’t know what to buy for grown men that aren’t my husband. Or teenaged boys. Or pre-teen boys. Or a 6 year old boy. We’ll figure it out in time though!
Zoe gets her first shots this coming Monday. I wonder how she’ll react to them. Izzy was pretty ok about it, just always cranky after. We’ll see.
I got new ribbon! So look for new bows in the etsy shop very soon!
