Getting Interviewed!

Getting Interviewed!

Hey Ladies!  I’m over at Kwana Writes giving a short interview about my second book, Strictly Professional!  Take some time to check it out, and check out the rest of her blog while you’re there.  She has some great author interviews, writing information, and other general awesomeness. And did I mention she was a writer as well?  If you’re looking for a good read, about the toll an affair can take on a marriage, and the aftermath, check out her novel Bounce! (I purchased Bounce with my own money, and thoroughly enjoyed it.) Also be on the lookout soon for a full review of her pending release, Threads of Desire!

I enjoyed the interview and it reminded me that I needed to buy a copy of the book, having thoroughly enjoyed the first chapter you posted here. Being able to tell a good story is certainly a gift. Do you write profiles for your characters or anything else before starting a novel? I always wanted to write one, but had no idea where to start.

I didn’t do profiles or anything for these first two books, but for the project I’m working on now, I have character profiles and an outline of the entire project, chapter by chapter. Conventional advice is to “start at the beginning”, but I think the better advice is to just think about your story. Who are your characters, what motivates them. How does their past affect their present lives, and future. Then figure out the story that you want to tell. From there, it just kinda flows!
