25 Sep Strawberry Blueberry Crumble

Best served warm, this berry crumble is fruity and delicious! So, on my grocery shopping adventure this morning, I ran across some beautiful strawberries, for only $1.88 for a whole pint! That was a deal that i simple couldn’t pass up! I knew that I wanted to make smoothies, but beyond that, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with the rest of them. I ended up picking up some blueberries on the same trip, so I decided to combine the two, and try this yummy dessert. I have made this dish before, but always with peaches or apples. Before today, I never would have imagined that I would enjoy the taste of warm strawberries, but this simple, easy dish is going to become a staple in our home!
2 cups of strawberries, halved
1 cup of blueberries
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of flour
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/3 cup of butter
1/2 cup of oats
Preheat oven to 350
Mix together your fruit, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and 1 tbsp of milk. Put aside.
Mix together 1/2 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/3 cup softened butter, and 1/2 cup of oats, until it has a crumbly texture.
spread your fruit evenly over a glassbaking dish. I used a 9″ Pie pan.
Sprinkle topping evenly over fruit
bake for 35-40 minutes, until crust begins to brown, and fruit begins to bubble up over the edges.
serve, and enjoy alone
or with ice cream 🙂
