The Menu

…What’s on yours for Christmas dinner?  At the Jones house, we’re having:

  • Cornish Hens
  • Dressing
  • Greens
  • Green Beans w/Potatoes
  • Homemade Cranberry sauce
  • Glazed Carrots
  • Spaghetti
  • Baked Macaroni and Cheese
  • Fresh Rolls
  • Candied Sweet Potatoes
  • German Chocolate Cake

What we’re not having:

  • Corn on the Cob, because I forgot to get it.
  • Chitlins (Chitterlings, for you proper folks, lol) because…because….Byron hates them, and I can’t eat a whole pot of them by myself! *sobs*

What are you guys having?

We are going to be travelling right after Christmas, so I don’t want to make too much food that will sit around for 3 days!

    Roasted Chicken
    Green Beans
    Stuffing
    Rolls
    Apple Pie

So happy to see someone else admit they love chitlins! The only time I ever have them is Christmas. My mom and I will share them because we are the only ones who can stand them. I didn’t go home last year so it has been 2 whole years since I had any! I can *taste* them and my mouth is watering. 🙂

Your menu sounded heavenly on Twitter and even better this year. Since we made a big meal for ourself Thanksgiving, we took Christmas off. LOL I do wish we had made brunch or something though. Oh well. Next year.

sounds like you had a fabulous menu! i absolutely LOVE german chocolate cake =) DH had never had it until i got him a slice at make my cake this fall (it was featured on throwdown with bobby flay).

we had THE honey baked ham, turkey, mac and cheese (i made it while my family complained the whole time about how i was doctoring it up from my mom’s recipe, but in the end they all loved it!), homemade rolls, cornbread (from scratch – usually i only like jiffy but it came out great), greens and green beans (with ham hocks), candied sweet potatoes, and no-bake cherry cheesecake for dessert. YUM!
