From JL Campbell – Perfection

Perfection-3DThe world of a new adult is filled with mishaps and painful lessons, and Perfection is no different. In this story, a young man becomes a parent before he’s ready and is distracted by a girl, when he decides he’s staying away from women. Thing is, love doesn’t operate on a timetable and when cupid comes knocking, it’s hard to say no.
The push and pull of family, school and responsibility are some of the challenges faced by this Jamaican couple, who also have exes getting in their way. As they struggle to overcome betrayal, deception and feelings of inadequacy, Karim and Natasha also discover that life is never perfect and that special someone turns up in the most unexpected places.
As one reviewer wrote about the story … J.L. Campbell writes life as it is, a young couple struggling through the pitfalls of falling in love, trusting each other, making allowances for each other. Her writing is never boring, never dull leading us, the readers, desperate to know what happens as Natasha and Karim manoeuvre their way through this grown up world they have joined.

My 20’s were 20 years ago… I don’t remember much but I do remember not really dating much. Part of the reason I moved from the Northwest to the Southeast in my late 20’s was because I didn’t have much luck in love. I hoped I would date more and have more access to people that look like me and love women that look like me. No such luck, but I’m happier here than I would have been in Spokane, Wa, so… *shrug*

As for previous loves still in my life… nope. Once we break up, it’s like I never knew you. I don’t do the ‘friends’ thing. I can’t be demoted from someone that mattered to you to someone you know.

DL, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. Glad you found a place in which you’re happy. My last ex and I still get on but we not close.
